Pointe
(Beginning, Intermediate,&
Advanced)
Dancers, who have developed
proper turn-out muscles, strong
feet, and proper alignment are
invited to take pointe classes.
While consideration is given to age, students are primarily placed
in classes based on their relative skill levels, as described below.
Class offerings and availability are subject to change each
semester. For Ballet Technique class, female dancers wear their
hair swept off the face and neck and tucked in a traditional bun.
Ladies wear a leotard, pink tights, and pink ballet slippers (not to
be worn on the street). Gentlemen wear traditional men’s ballet
attire with a dance belt.
Pre-Ballet: Ages 3-4
Dancers learn skills, such as
marching, skipping, galloping, and
how to work in a group.
Ballet I: Ages 5-7
Dancers start to put steps together
as part of a formal dance. More
emphasis is placed on barre
technique than in Pre-Ballet.
